Word Clouds

I used a website called Wordle to create two word clouds on the evolution of the National Education Technology Standards. The two word clouds are different and you can tell that the idea of education has changed over time. Here are the two word clouds:

Wordle: NETS-T 2000

Wordle: NETS-T 2008

After viewing the two word clouds I made, it is obvious that the direction of the NETS-T has changed their view on education. I am able to determine this without even reading a word of the either standard. In 2000, it looks as though a great deal of emphasis was placed on technology. There was little emphasis placed on anything else. In 2008, the emphasis is placed on learning. There is also a slight focus on words that expand technology; such as tools, resources, and digital. It seems to me that as technology expands, so do the NETS-T. In 2000, the main word was technology. However, there was no expansion on this word. In 2008, they took the word technology and expanded on it, creating a more in depth view of things.
